New ZAGGfolio Video Review 2012

The ZAGGfolio’s new sleek design, allows for easy storage and light-weight transport. Upon opening the box, I immediately became away of the keyboard’s power source through a USB charger that connects to your computer or wall charger. The keyboard slides in and out quite easily while the cover can be used with or without the keyboard if you prefer to travel with even less weight.

Out of the box the keyboard worked immediately & fast! All I had to do was pair the keyboard with my iPad 3 in (Settings/ General/ Bluetooth), click on the ZAGG device in the blue tooth discoverable list, and voila!

Clipping the iPad into the case is pretty easy to do, and the new ZAGG invisible SHIELD HD allows for room on the edges so that it can clip directly onto the glass.

CONS:

1- The plastic that the keyboard is nestled into is light and a bit flimsy at the tip of where you slide the keyboard in. Provided you SLIDE your keyboard out instead of LIFTING it out, that shouldn’t be a problem. However, it would be nice if they put in a more durable plastic.

2- Without the keyboard, the surface on the case doesn’t provide an ideal “non-slip” surface, which leaves the iPad sliding down if not positioned correctly.

A HUGE plus is the productive workflow one can have whenever typing and multitasking through documents, emails, music, photo’s & home screen via keyboard. I was worried that the keyboard would lack the same shortcut capabilities I am used to on the mac, but was surprised to find not only were they there… but also a few more nicer shortcut options along the top as well as combination shortcuts as listed below:

Cut: Command X

Paste: Command V

Undo: Command Z

End: Command right arrow

Beginning: Command Left Arrow

Page UP: Command Up Arrow

Page Down: Command Down Arrow

Select All: Command A

Select Left: Shift Left

Select Right: Shift Right

Select Up: Shift Up

Should you buy one? Although it’s not complete perfection, it’s pretty close. I can’t think of any comparable product on the market that could compete well with this device for the iPad. So if this is what you are looking for to soup up your iPad experience, then this is the product for you. (It’s worth forking out the bucks!) Go to www.zagg.com for more information. Dear ZAGG,

I’m an author who recently acquired my very first iPad 3; fully loaded. On my way to the airport I made a last moment decision to get a protective case for my new treasure. A friend highly recommended your ZAGGfolio carbon fiber case with the Bluetooth keyboard. I tested it out in the store and found it more than adequate for editing my novels on long flights.

The next day found me driving up the historic Natchez

Trace from Alabama to Tennessee in search of new stories. The land is breathtaking.

I pulled into a scenic overlook and retrieved my iPad from the back seat eager to take pictures of the lush rolling hills. While snapping away, my phone rang so I set the iPad in your ZAGGfolio case on the hood of my rental car and wandered up the ridge seeking better reception. By the time I returned with new thoughts in my head I had completely forgot about the iPad, so jumping in the driver’s seat I headed on down the road.

The small car is one of those where the hood is sloped so you can’t see it through the windshield leaving me oblivious to the fatal mistake I had just made.

A short time later while speeding down the parkway a bump in the road caused a slight movement on the hood which caught my eye. Cranking my neck, my heart suddenly stopped as I watched in horror as your case slowly slid to its inevitable doom.

In desperation I glanced at my speedometer only to see a blurring 54 mph. Panic took hold. Doing the worse thing possible I slammed on the brakes launching my brand new iPad like it was a rocket.

With the color draining from my face I watched as your folio case went hurling through the clear blue sky. A passerby might have taken it for a fleeing raven and indeed it actually looked as if it might take wing when suddenly it flipped and plummeted towards the unforgiving earth below.

Gripping the steering wheel with all my might I stomped the brake to the floor. Things couldn’t have possibly got worse when at the last moment the iPad took a surprise turn and slammed into the pavement directly in front of the hungry wheels. A second later the dreaded Thump, Thump of both tires racing over your shiny black case told me I was doomed.

Pulling the car to a stop, my shoulders slumped; I got out and made the final slow death walk back to your case lying lifelessly in the middle of the road. There before my eyes it lay battered and scuffed from its ill-fated flight and tremendous impact on the famed Natchez Trace. What could I expect? It had been run over by a 3000 pound car no less. Bending down with all hope lost I picked it up. Surprisingly the case was still intact. And when I opened the latch the iPad sprang to life completely unharmed. Consumed by an overwhelming joy I danced in the road as I typed in my password on your keyboard which worked flawlessly.

We live in an age where we come to expect shoddy workmanship and over inflated claims, but on your box you have proudly stated that ZAGG is dedicated to providing the most innovative and high quality products for its customers. This is one claim I can happy attest is absolutely true.

Aѕ I mentioned above, mу wife doesn’t take fаntаѕtіс care οf hеr iPhone. Shе јυѕt throws іt іn hеr purse whеn going somewhere, without caring іf thеrе аrе keys οr οthеr unknown objects іn thеrе thаt сουƖԁ hυrt іt. Tο hеr defense, ѕhе uses a pretty levelheaded case – thе OtterBox Warden – аnԁ ѕhе already hаѕ аn InvisibleSHIELD front cover οn hеr iPhone.

Bυt, thіѕ InvisibleSHIELD wаѕ over a year ancient аnԁ thіѕ poor screen protector wouldn’t hаνе looked аnу worse іf іt hаԁ gone through thе Vietnam war. Sο whеn I tοƖԁ hеr I hаԁ a nеw screen protector fοr hеr tο try out, ѕhе wаѕ pretty excited.

Installation

If уου’ve installed аn InvisibleSHIELD before, уου’ll ƖіkеƖу remember thе installation process іѕ hοnеѕtƖу simple аnԁ qυісk.

First уου hаνе tο сƖеаn up уουr iPhone, whісh I ԁіԁ using one οf ουr iDB custom micro structure cloths. Thеn mаkе sure уουr hands аrе сƖеаn, аnԁ spray thеm wіth thе watery solution thаt comes wіth уουr InvisibleSHIELD wrap.

Peel out thе screen protector frοm paper backing, spray іt wіth thе solution, аnԁ apply іt tο уουr contrivance. Thе water based solution іѕ fаntаѕtіс bесаυѕе іf уου don’t ɡеt thе screen protector applied correctly, уου саn always rearrange іt until уου ɡοt іt реrfесtƖу set up.

Once іt’s іn рƖасе, јυѕt ɡеt rid οf thе excess water using thе tool provided, аnԁ try tο Ɩеt уουr iPhone sit fοr a few hours ѕο іt саn ѕtаrt curing. Zagg suggests уου don’t υѕе уουr iPhone fοr 24 hours, bυt realistically, whο саn ɡο 24 hours without using hіѕ iPhone? Surely nοt mу wife, whοm аѕ soon аѕ іt wаѕ installed, grabbed hеr iPhone, stuck іt іntο hеr purse, аnԁ wеnt οn wіth hеr day.

Shе аƖѕο claims thаt thе screen looks crispier аnԁ more responsive tο hеr. Jυѕt Ɩіkе thаt, I became hеr hero fοr thе day fοr setting hеr up wіth a nеw screen protector.
